BREAKING NEWS
I just received word from CPW that they will not be conducting walleye spawning operations at Chatfield this spring and that the dam closure restriction will NOT be applied. This was confirmed within CPW with the biologists, park manager, and game wardens.
This means there will be no dam closure area on Chatfield this spring. This is a great opportunity to catch fish along the dam from shore or a boat. I will add that this is a time to practice selective harvest. Chatfield is still a lake that CPW values as a potential spawning location in the future, so it’s best to release the larger brood females if you catch them and harvest a few of the more plentiful males if you are looking to take some fish home to eat.
Additional Boat Ramp Info:
Prewitt and Lon Hagler are both open to boating. Remember to practice the Clean, Drain, and Dry protocols before launching and when getting off the lake.
Jackson Lake boat ramp will be opening March 2nd. ANS inspection is required for all vessels prior to launching. The ANS inspection hours will be 8 am to 4 pm.
Boyd currently have an opening date of March 11th. The lake will open at 8 am when the ANS inspection station opens.
